They worked from 8.30am till late. They worked so hard and hardly stopped. They tidied up as they went along. I had every faith in them and the outcome was spectacular. "The whole experience was a delight. From the start it was obvious that I was dealing with a team of very knowledgable and experienced professionals. They are geared up for all the work I asked them to undertake and the team obviously enjoy what they are doing.

Richard has undertaken 2 items of work for me in the past month. He knows his stuff and came very highly recommended. He is a very clear communicator, explaining how he was going to work each project and why he was going to do something in a particular way. His employees have a can do, customer focussed attitude which makes them a pleasure to have working around the property. They are very safety conscious and had clearly defined bounds for their working area as well as a good communications protocol, keeping all in their group aware of what was going on by continuous commentary.

Cutting down of 2 x 35 feet 45 year old conifer trees in our front garden, and removal of all wood etc.

"We thought that Richard and his team might not have been able to come because of the Coronavirus restrictions. However they did and emailed to let us know when they would arrive. They arrived exactly on time and spent 2.5 hours cutting down 2 very large conifers in our front garden. The trees were almost on the pavement, and overhanging our neighbour's garden. The team cut down the trees with minimal mess and damage to the rest of the plants in the garden, the roadside, and the neighbour's garden, and removed the brash and smaller pieces of wood to their chipper as they went along. The chips were taken away and then the larger blocks of remaining wood were loaded into the van.

Due to coronavirus restrictions we had to keep our distance from the team, but they were friendly and efficient, and worked non-stop. The whole process was the most excitement seen in the street since the lockdown started! Neighbours came out to watch what was going on!

Swift, efficient, pleasant workers - a good experience all round. Highly recommended."

Extensive pruning of 4 large trees and removal of 1 dying tree.

"We were recommended to use this firm by a neighbour. The job was tricky and not particularly accessible tree surgery, including removal of a large tree close to the house, and another with branches extending right over the roof of the building. The work was carried out efficiently with minimum disruption and mess. The final bill matched the original quote and the work was carried out on the days specified.

Fell one large Ash tree, rotten at the base. Cut into slabs (to be split by customer).

"This was a difficult job because of power lines on one side and telephone cables on another, and a garage and shed beneath the tree. Nevertheless, the tree was reduced in height then the large main trunk was expertly felled without any damage, landing exactly where planned. The main trunk was then cut into manageable slabs. I was very pleased with the outcome and the team worked hard."

The felling of three trees, two pine and one very tall Beech tree. All trees were adjacent to the road and pole carrying electricity and telephone wires. Cutting into manageable sized logs and chipping waste.

Three large poplars uprooted in the October Storms fell across the bottom of my garden damaging walls and fences not to mention the garden beds as well. The work to clear the trees was assessed, priced, insurance claim handled by Richard. Trees then cut up and burnt in situ as there was no way to remove the wood from the premises and the site left as tidy as possible. All was done in a thoroughly professional way in only three days and advice as to how to handle the other damage was appreciated.

"It was a difficult job involving a burn running along the edge. Richard came promptly,assessed the damage and importantly for me dealt with the insurance claim and other interested parties. Amazingly it took him and his two workers less than three days to cut them up and burn them in situ, there being no way to remove the wood from the premises. The damage to the area was kept to a minimum and the site left as tidy as possible. His staff were polite, efficient, and I appreciate the advice he gave me on how to deal with the other aspects of the damage. It was a thoroughly professional job from start to finish with a personal touch which was very much appreciated. It turned what looked like a catastrophe into something that I knew was in safe hands and could stop worrying about. A job well done.

After receiving an excellent quote from Richard for trimming and facing very large Leylandii Trees we arranged a suitable date and time for the work to be carried out.

" Richard and his colleague Matt arrived promptly on the day arranged. When we saw the substantial equipment they had brought, we knew they would carry out a first class job. Both Richard and Matt were professional, pleasant, conscientious and very hard working. Richard is very knowledgeable informing us exactly what he and Matt would do. On completion of the work, everything was cleared/cleaned up and taken away for disposal. The left our property as if they'd never been. We are so pleased with the work that we have arranged for it to be carried out annually. Can't thank Richard and Matt enough.

"Having Knolin Richard for many years, I will allays ask to do any tree work, as he is 100% reliable, honest, experiences, knowledgeable, professional industrious, safe, tidy, polite, friendly and considerate to neighbor's etc.
He always has excellent men working for / with him. Currently Mate, Diave and Rory - All fantastic.
What would normally be a stressful job, when using many other tree surgeons as I once made the mistake of previously and they devastated various plants, including the tree, left a trail of mess and over priced - You have the complete opposite with Richard - No stress, no damage to buildings, plants, etc. They are so careful from the start to finish, clear up as they work, so no mess at any time, have all the correct equipment and skills. Cut down mature dying beech tree

"I had a mature copper beech tree situated in my back garden which sat right on the boundary line with two other neighbours, I knew this tree was dying a few years ago. I have spent a lot of time and money on my garden so the thought of this tree being cut down and the possible damage resulting from this was a big concern to me, this is why it has taken years to get around to it, however, a couple of months ago I noticed the bark coming off around the base of the trunk and the wood beneath it was rotten so I knew the time had come.
I found Richard Gauld on the trusted traders website with excellent reviews and ratings so I asked him to take a look, the prognosis was not good, the tree was dying due to honey fungus.
Richard explained that he could remove the tree without affecting the neighbouring properties and damage in my own property would be kept to a minimum, the price I was quoted was very reasonable considering the limited access to the garden and the confined space to fell a tree of this size. The quote was accepted and the date was arranged to carry out this work.
On the day Richard and his team arrived at the exact time I was told, they assessed the job and started work straight away, it was fascinating to watch them, everything came down exactly as they wanted, you could have marked an X on the ground and they would have landed everything on it, I ended up watching them for most of the day!.
The wood was then cut up in the back garden and moved to the front of the property, Richard and his team were very friendly and polite and they worked exceptionally hard and did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards, they had taken down a very large rotten tree in a confined area with limited access without causing damage, Excellent job!!.
