Broughtons moved us from a top floor tenement flat in Edinburgh to a house south of Edinburgh. They did the packing on the Monday and rhe move itself on the Wednesday. They were brilliant, careful, professional and cheerful at all times.

Never even THINK of using anyone else!
From the moment Andrew arrived bang on time to assess what we needed, to when the "FAB4" drove away having delivered us and our stuff, from start to finish we were in the hands of kind, caring professionals.
Jo, Director of Broughtons, also went above and beyond when things got a bit tricky with timings on the actual moving day (thanks Jo - our new door is ALWAYS open to you!).
Honestly, never trust such an important part of your lives to anyone else. There's a reason Broughtons are still going strong since 1970.
We originally got 3 quotes, with one being cheaper than Broughtons, and another one having T&Cs that were risky (always read the small print). It was worth getting 3 quotes, but from the start, Broughtons stood out as the best, from the assessor arriving, the detail of the quote, the fact that we could email or phone with any follow-up questions etc. PLUS whenever we mentioned we had booked Broughtons to pals, everyone said "Oh yes, we used them and they were great".
We were so grateful that we did use you guys, as you looked after us from start to finish (plus your environmental policy), so our only feedback is 100% positive.
Amazing customer service and attention to detail, brilliant and cheery guys with faultless back-office support and help.
We honestly cannot praise them highly enough.

We moved from a Victorian house into a modern flat which is not very much smaller than our house and has good storage space, but it is smaller. Despite having got rid of masses of stuff, we still had too much!

"There was a four-month delay between moving out of our last home and moving onto the new one, and Broughton removals kept our belongings in storage during that time. The whole experience was as positive as it could be in such stressful circumstances.

Broughton Removals made the whole process as easy as possible. The staff were unfailingly helpful, polite and cheerful and inspired confidence in their professionalism. We took up their suggestion that that the move into the new place was done over two days, and we felt it was the right decision. The boss even brought us all hot pies on the day we moved out!"

I wasn''t moving house, but needed to put most of ground floor into storage for three weeks to allow new flooring to be installed and have the rooms redecorated.

"It's possible some of the places where I put "no" were covered in paperwork I never got round to reading. The service was prompt and efficient and there was regular communication from the company to check we were still on track for planned return date, let me know when the team were on their way etc. The owner is a fund of knowledge and chat. Extra boxes brought on the day no problem.The whole project went very smoothly and I am delighted with my revamped and restored home."

Our move was a massive downsize from a large Victorian property to a modern flat. We were only moving a few pieces of furniture, but had a very large volume of personal possessions including china and glasses, ornaments and art work and an extensive collection of cds- much of which is now stored in our new garage.

"A packer arrived sharp on the day before the move, and proceeded carefully to wrap and box our possessions. In the afternoon, she was joined by others to help, and in particular to ensure that the collection of cds remained in order! The following day saw all hands on deck, as the men moved everything to the van, and then after the short trip, they unloaded with guidance to the correct locations within the new property.

We were impressed throughout by the expertise, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff throughout. They made a stressful event almost pleasant.

We were very satisfied from beginning to end.
When I requested they come to collect empty boxes - they sent two men to help move a couple of items of furniture we had decided to relocate, and made no extra charge!"

This was a complex move which was carried out with great skill and even enjoyment. We went from Edinburgh into store or to relations in Oxford, the load being split. We were confirmed in the view that it is worth paying for a high quality service.

"Senior manager had time to discuss the changes we had to ask for - regarding dates and destinations.The head porter came a few days in advance to review the job. We were encouraged to be part of the job, rather than being asked to step clear while the professionals got on with it. Nothing went wrong but we were encouraged to feel that if it had, it would have been dealt with."

Moving from a two floor Georgian period property to a three floor modern house. The move included a grand piano and two substantial bookcases.

"I found the Broughton Removals team very helpful and easy to deal with. They accommodated the couple of timing changes that arose without difficulty and were very punctual with their time-keeping. The move itself was inevitably quite stressful but the team involved were friendly and efficient. They coped well with the considerable demands of getting my large grand piano down one flight of stairs and up another.

There was only one breakage which was purely accidental and not the team’s fault, and they immediately offered to take the item off for repair.

All in all I consider the removal good value and would certainly recommend Broughton to others."

June and I were moving from a 4 bed house to a 3 bed apartment on the top floor of a converted building in central Edinburgh

"Sonny and Jo, provided us with a comprehensive old fashioned caring careful service both were brilliant with us, nothing was any trouble,

Jo kept us informed of the next steps throughout.

Free boxes tape and paper were provided and delivered to us well in advance to enable us to pack at our leisure.

The removal team on moving day arrived when they said they would, were very friendly, cheery, wrapped fragile furniture and pictures and loaded our possessions quickly and carefully. On arriving at our new apartment on the third floor, and despite the rain worked well as a team and asked on each occasion which room our furniture and boxes were to be put into. This gave us a great head start in organising each room.
Our heavy lounge couches & very expensive sideboard had to be carried up 6 flights of steps as they were too big to go in the lift. The guys were brilliant and so so careful / expended more than a little perspiration and all without the hint of a grumble. Fantastic service in tis day and age.

June and I could not recommend Broughton highly enough, and would this company again without hesitation.

A move of over 80 miles including the clearing out of a lock up and a very busy flat. Huge amounts of books, artwork, sculptures and furniture.

"Broughton Removals provided us with a superb service from start to finish. From the initial visit and quote, to the interaction with the office staff and then the removals team themselves, we were treated with genuine friendliness, professionalism and a very helpful attitude. It was a big move of 80 miles, from a vastly overcrowded flat. Endless boxes were carried with great care. Hundreds of framed pictures and objets d’art were handled as if they were their own. It was everything you’d really hope for from a removals company - and more. The monies involved were more than reasonable and the whole experience was as happy as any move could be. It’s a stressful experience no matter what, but Broughton Removals made an excellent shoulder to lean on. 100% recommended."

I moved out of a two bed flat and needed my belongings kept in storage for more than a year. I have a lot of China and glass of great sentimental value.

"I would highly recommend Broughton Removals. Extremely professional and excellent service. All my items were packed, stored and transported with great care.

The initial quotation and estimate was conducted with great accuracy. I also needed to move at short notice and they went out of their way to accommodate me.

On both moving days, particularly moving into my new home the moving staff on the day could not have been nicer. I am a single woman and they went out of their way to make sure that items were placed conveniently and to make sure that it would be “livable” without me having to move heavy items.

It was difficult to get my sofa in due to access restrictions and they applied creativity and care until the found a solution. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt very at ease in their company. There may be cheaper companies but they provide excellent value for money.

If I ever move again I will be using Broughton."

City to rural move with a de-clutter into storage prior to the main removal. End of chain, so late entry on removal day.

"I'm a repeat customer with Broughton - excellent on both occasions. Late 2023 move from city to rural. At the end of the chain but late entry on the day was handled easily and as stress-free as possible. Communication was excellent, all the staff were friendly, straightforward and helpful. Storage rates are very reasonable and allowed a de-clutter into storage so the sale property looked its best for viewings. Booking dates was easy once there was a completion date in place. Removal was over two days - most done the day prior (into storage) with an overnight few items to collect on the day. Staff were very relaxed and supportive about the delay in entry, then efficient about getting items into the new home without any damage or worry. "Broughton Removals were amazing from start to finish! The move was done over two days and the weather was atrocious but this did not deter the guys from their job. They carried on cheerfully moving our belongings, very polite, helpful and professional, despite the foul weather! We can't fault them, they really helped to making things stress free for myself and my husband.They made sure we were happy with everything before they left. "Broughton Removals were really impressive, particularly the guys who moved our belongings out of our previous home and into this one. They were punctual, quick, considerate, professional and cheerful. Handling someone's belongings is quite a personal act, at a very stressful time, and the removers made the day much much better than I expected due to their professionalism, positive attitude and the consideration and care they showed. Move from a bungalow into a two storey four bed house

"I had high expectations after a recommendation from a friend that you were excellent - you surpassed my expectations in every way! The service was exceptional and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. All of your staff are friendly, polite, helpful and went over and above. The efficiency of the packing and unloading was great. Everything was carefully handled, packed and moved it also made unpacking at the other end much easier. I had no issues at all on the day, but I’m confident that if an issue had arisen it would have been dealt with.

In the words of my toddler when she arrived at the new house…”all of my things have moved, it’s like magic”! Thank you so much for making our move as smooth as possible!"

Move from City of Edinburgh to 2 addresses in Fife

"Broughtons Removals were amazing. They totally took the stress out of moving - not a small ask. They supplied 2 smaller vans - perfect for access at the other end to 2 separate properties, arrived on time, delivered in record time and dismantled/built items which needed it quickly and professionally. Not only all of this, but they also came to the rescue when a charity pick-up (on the day the sold property had to be vacated) fell through: they immediately understood the problem, came back at the drop of a hat and removed two large wardrobes.

Really satisfied with the service - I’d almost move all over again just to be able to book Broughton’s."
