About Us

Probably south London's oldest removal company. Owned and run by Gary Wheadon as a family run business since 1990.
The company has various sized vehicles to undertake full household, office or commercial removals to single items.
Containerised storage, still the best and cheapest way to store your goods.
We also sell packing materials to the public and are probably the cheapest in Lambeth.

The storage company was just delivering the items to my new home. It was a straightforward move in that aspect.

"I have been dealing with Sullys Removals & Containered Storage (Gary), for over the past 11 years and I can say that it's been a pleasure working and corresponding with them.

I used them for storage during that time and have visited the storage facility to obtain items from it in the past. Gary and his team were punctual, respectful and helpful in arranging to meet me and taking me to the facility some years ago.

I find Gary himself to a be a pleasant and courteous individual, who is always keeping me abreast with the company's situation. For every invoice he greets you with 'Good morning or Good afternoon' and wished you well. Gary's characteristic' is an exemplary for business, and if he was a Trade person; an Office Worker; a Hospitality worker etc he would let your business and client's shine.

Gary and one of his team members delivered the items to my home recently, (I can't remember the chap's name). However, there was a hiccup with the delivery and Gary 'kept me posted' along the way. They delivered the items in a timely manner, while being efficient by taking care not to damage the delicate pieces and placed them in the relevant rooms as required. Once again thank you Gary, the Chap that moved me recently and the team at Sully's for your wonderful service over the last 11 years.

From 3-bed house to 2-bed flat, approx. one mile away. Included lots of books and paintings.

"I rang Sully's on 13th, to see if they could move me on 25th (still no exchange of contracts), and Gary Wheadon, owner, said yes and came round within an hour or so to look at what needed to be moved. I was very impressed by both his manner, the questions asked by him and his answers to the questions asked by me.
[So many companies apparently do not do this any more, but use videos. Not reassuring at all, as moving is such a personal, difficult thing for many of us - first time in 16 years for me.]
I got a quote the next day.
Exchange happened late on 17th. I paid Sullys the next morning and they arranged initial packing on Thursday, 20th, done in 4 hours.
The team of 5, including Gary arrived promptly at 8.30am on Tuesday 25th and were packed up and gone in 2 medium sized vans by 12 noon.
Everything was moved into my new flat and they had finished by about 3pm, if not earlier..."

Removal of furniture via an external elevator from a fifth floor apartment in the centre of Chelsea.

"Gary and his team arrived punctually and could not have been more helpful on the day. The apartment was to be cleared for renovation, items going to clearance, into storage and some to auction. The team managed and loaded the external elevator safely and professionally with care taken at all times. Furniture was moved to the internal lift for storage in the basement. Fantastic teamwork and a positive 'can do' attitude."

From a three storey house - with awkward stairways - to a flat halfway up a high rise block - fortunately with a lift. Not all of the house contents were moved: those without a ticket stuch to them stayed.

"At an inevitably stressful time, they could not have been more helpful. The move was carried out as planned, efficiently, quickly and with great good humour. The team identified and resolved problems without fuss, and made an anxious day a good deal less worrisome.

Short notice move from a 3 bed, first floor flat in Westminster with limited parking to a Big Yellow Storage and separate property in the Surrey/Middlesex area.

"We were looking at very short notice for a removal company who could move us from our three bed flat in Westminster to a storage unit and property in the Surrey/Middlesex area.

On Thursday I was in a slight panic and was contacting companies on the BAR website.

Gary from Sullys was by far the most responsive. I initially spoke to him on the phone, sent him some photos and details via WhatsApp, and within a few hours he visited the property and had provided a competitive quote. Gary was very professional and although I don’t know the first thing about removals I got the sense that he knew exactly what he was doing, so I decided to go with Sullys. A lot of the other companies I contacted hadn’t even got back to me by this point.

Gary sent the paperwork via email very promptly and over the weekend I sent him a view WhatsApp messages to confirm details and again he responded quickly. The paperwork was very clear and I paid full in advance on Monday, the day before the move.

Gary and the team (3 others) arrived on Tuesday and were faced with a bit of a parking nightmare. They dealt with it more calmly than me and soon got their vehicle parked near to the flat.

We had packed everything ourselves so Gary and the team just needed to load the van in a certain order because some of the items were going to a unit and others were going to a property.

Gary and the team worked incredibly quickly and on the whole were very respectful of the items and the property. Everything was soon packed in the van and there was minimal fuss.

I signed some paperwork with Gary confirming the items had been loaded and then the three other team members transported our items, first to the unit and then to the property. Again the team were very quick and careful. They were very good at maximising storage space and responded positively to my requests.

Once the items had been dropped off at both locations I signed one more bit of paperwork and the team went on their way.

In terms of property damage I did notice a couple of marks on our fabric sofa and some scratches to a metal lamp, but nothing that can’t be fixed and not too bad considering the amount of stuff being moved.

Overall I feel lucky to have found Sullys and would use them again and recommend them to friends/family without hesitation. They are a friendly and hard working team."

One person moving from 2 bed flat to 2 bed house. Distance 100 miles. Large amount of heavy boxes formed a main part of the items. Temporary parking permit required for the day.

"The initial contact was with Gary at Sullys. After one minute speaking to him I knew I was dealing with a top professional remover. Calm and clear details were provided to me in an efficient manner.
The site visit for my relative was completed the following morning and he was immediately put at ease and felt extremely reassured regarding the whole process of his move. Everything was explained in detail so that he knew what was happening and when - both in the run up to move day and for the move day itself.
Part of the move required a temporary parking permit to be obtained for the day. This was handled efficiently by Sullys and meant one less item for us to worry about.
On move day, the team turned up on time, worked with precision and speed and ensured the property was fully cleared before they departed.
Similarly, on delivery day ( one day later ) the team again worked with speed and precision, ensuring all items were safely delivered into the new property and that my relative was comfortable with the job before they departed.
I have very much appreciated being able to work with Sullys for this move. It was a very stressful move for so many reasons but Gary and his team made it smooth and easy from start to finish. Anyone who is fortunate enough to book them for their own removal job will be very pleased with the result and assured of great service."

Move from a 1 bedroom flat to a storage unit.

"From start to finish my experience was that the move was in safe hands. They turned up early and while happy to wait if I needed more time, they got straight to work. I hadn’t had time to close all the boxes or test if some were overpacked, but they took over, and from that point everything was taken care of including removing and replacing a window to get the sofa out.

Their preparation beforehand in getting to know the job was an obvious benefit and the whole removal was quick and painless.

They didn’t pressure me to leave once they were done so I could finish some last minute tasks and were equally patient at the other end when I was getting the storage unit ready. They managed to pack all my belongings into the one unit despite it looking like they would not all fit and were happy for me to go away and give me a call when they were almost finished, so I could go back, see what they had done and lock up.

At a stressful time for matters additional to the move, they made all the difference.

"I used Sullys for a big house move after being impressed at their service previously. Gary's team did an excellent job. We booked a packing service and a removal. Gary and Co showed up on time and with a great attitude. They had the house cleared in under 3 hours, which was no mean feat. Including dismantling furniture and getting it stacked in their trucks. Same when we arrived at our new place, they had everything unstacked in super fast time and in the correct rooms, furniture reassembled.

"I had a great service from Scully's. It was very reassuring that Gary came out to view my property before he quoted. All other companies either asked me to list the items or they required a video call to view my property and the items that needed moving. I am pleased I went with Scully's as I needed two vans in the end for the move due to the number of large outdoor plants I have. The other companies I contacted thought it would just be one transit to move me! Gary and the team were all very friendly, helpful, polite and careful with all of my belongings. I used D Sully & Son recently and had a great experience, they were professional, timely, very cautious (they moved a glass top that I did not protect without a scratch) and extremely experienced in handling/organizing all the furnishings. I had a split floor plan with narrow stairs which they handled very well. our lift is is good size but the some items were larger and they managed to get all in and loaded. I highly recommend them and would definitely contract them again

Move from a top floor flat to another top floor flat. Thankfully the lifts were working!

"The guys arrived very promptly this morning and the move went without a hitch.
They were very helpful, hardworking, careful with the fragile items and very helpful setting things back up in the new house.
Would definitely recommend and would certainly use Sully's again. Maybe a bit on the expensive side but currently removal companies are very much in demand!"

We moved from a large 3 storey house to a much smaller property approx 4 miles away. I was anxious the new premises had restricted access for a large removal van and mentioned this to Mr Sully - he replied I have already checked it all out on Google Earth no problem. We knew then we had employed the services of a good professional.

"We had not moved house for 34 years so we were quite anxious about the whole moving process. Mr Sully was quick to allay our fears and assured us that all would go well; he was used to any eventuality and took full responsibility for the actual physical move.

The company packed all our breakables and this was done efficiently and without any mishaps.

All the workmen were polite, efficient, humorous and professional - in short nothing was too much trouble.

We were very impressed with the Company from start to finish and would not hesitate to highly recommend them."

A move from a third floor 2 bed flat to a 2 bed house, also picking up some stuff from a lockup on the way.

"We were anticipating an incredibly stressful moving day.

When aren't they?

But Sully's made it all smoother and easier than we could've imagined.

We couldn't believe the efficiency.

In under 3 hours, 5 guys packed up our entire 50 sqm flat, including furniture and the belongings of 2 adults and 2 children AND loaded up the contents of a small lockup.

After that burst of speed, the team then waited patiently and cheerfully when our check-in clerk was running late with the keys.

Once we were in, they rebuilt the furniture and unloaded all our boxes into the new property in under an hour.

Someone dropped round as soon as we'd finished unpacking to collect and recycle all the empty boxes.

We'll definitely contact them next time we have to move.

Now, if only the servicing of the boiler and dishwasher in the new house could be a fraction as fast and pleasant!"

Moved contents of three bedroom house in London and a collection of musical instruments from nearby storage facility to Devon. Extra care required for moving a collection of antique stringed instruments and a large and heavy ceramic sculpture in the garden.

"Gary visited the house beforehand to assess and calculate the planned move from London to Devon. Moving day and Sully's & Sons Ltd arrived on time, early in the morning, with two lorries. I Walked through the house with Gary to double check the boxes/items being moved from the first to last. The removers were extremely well organised and co ordinated. Within a couple of hours the whole house was cleared including the large and heavy sculpture in the garden. The next stage was clearing the items being stored on the 5th floor in a nearby storage facility. Again, Gary and his team were already prepared and organised navigating through the long corridors and with limited access to only one lift to ground floor. At this stage we left the removers to continue to clear the store and drove down to Devon. The removers made their way down Devon, and in the morning they arrived at our destination, again on time. Within a few hours everything was unloaded and neatly organised as requested. Everything arrived safely. Whether moving locally or long distance We would highly recommend Sully & Sons Ltd. They are one of the best removal companies based in London."

Move from London to Wiltshire, Studio flat to 2 bed apartment. Included dismantling and reassembly of bed and sofa.

"My sister moved from her studio flat in London to a two bed flat in Wiltshire. Gary had previously visited and quoted for the move. As promised, Gary and his two colleagues arrived at 9am. After clearing ice from the outside steps, the team cracked on and in an hour, the van was loaded and en route. After dropping keys etc, we set off for Wiltshire. Gary and his team arrived 5 minutes after we did. Again, they cracked on and about an hour later, the van was unloaded. We had arranged dismantling and reassembly of the bed and sofa, undertaken with care as was the whole move. And no breakages.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Sullys removals for a professional removal service handled with care and good humour. Well done guys."
