I was concerned that I would not find a company able to take my small consignment of a few small pieces of furniture and personal effects. Luker Bros proved me wrong!

My move was from Geneva, Switzerland to London, UK. A neighbour in Switzerland recommended Luker Brothers, who had moved her to Geneva 40-odd years earlier.

Luker Bros provided exceptional service during our recent move of furniture to our new home in Scotland. The team was responsible for moving our furniture and some basic items, and they handled everything with great professionalism and care.

The move was from a flat on the third floor, with the lift out of order (which was known in advance), to a first floor flat elsewhere also without a lift. It took place over two days which were among the hottest this year, with temperatures of 30 degrees for most of the time, with the third floor flat also being very hot. The team coped with this admirably and were really wonderful despite these challenging circumstances. The move included full packing of belongings which I would thoroughly recommend. I cannot speak highly enough of the team and how well they handled the move. I had been unwell for two weeks beforehand and was as not as well prepared as I had hoped. However, the team dealt with everything in an efficient and professional way, with a calm and friendly manner, and good cheer throughout, which I appreciated very greatly at such a stressful time. As soon as they arrived I felt reassured that the move was in safe hands and this proved to be the case. Everything was handled respectfully and all belongings arrived safely. Huge thanks to the team for truly excellent service. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Moved door-to-door from Florida, USA to the UK, household belongings, artwork, furniture in a 20 foot container. We packed some personal items ourselves, but all the large or delicate items were packed by the local agent, including a glass dining table.

The move went very smoothly

We had seen Luker Bros lorries in Switzerland with their distinctive logo for several decades while visiting family and friends in Switzerland on a regular basis and so this was the first firm that we approached. Indeed, around 15 years ago Luker Bros had repatriated an elderly widow from our village in Switzerland to live with her daughter in the UK. Since the UK’s departure from the European Community in 2021 it is even more important to appoint a remover with direct international experience especially in regard to Customs regulations and procedures. We received excellent advice both from Luker Bros and also from their Swiss importing agent whom we took the trouble to meet a month prior to our move. Apart from the issues of importing cars and animals, which we were required to do separately and personally, the rest of our furniture and belongings caused no problem at all!! The move was not the most straightforward as we were moving from a London house where we had lived for over 40 years to a Swiss farmhouse that had been in the family for 50 years and was fully furnished and equipped. However, all the items that we wanted to take to Switzerland were safely packed and delivered. The one item that should not have gone and the one that was hidden even from ourselves so stayed in London were the only two hiccups and both were our own fault!! The unloading was fast and efficient and took about half the time for the packing and loading and we are still going through boxes and will be doing that for quite some time.

The pick up was in the Alps, Switzerland during the winter, conditions were Ice and snow. No problem for Steve and Lee who handled everything without any issues. We then used the Luker storage facilities in Oxford. Then final delivery to our UK address.

The move was due to relocating from Switzerland to the UK and involved the complete removal of all items in a 3 bedroomed house including the garage which contained a very heavy workbench!
