The service was 6 months of storage, with removal at the start and delivery at the end into a different house.

"At the start they gave an estimate for the storage and removal/delivery, storage was in crates, with detailed inventories so items could be found if needed. Care was taken to ask about specific items, especially on delivery, where they really wanted to get them in the right place rather than dump and run! It was nice that solutions to problems were suggested rather than expecting me to solve everything on the spot! Down sizing from Surrey to Berkshire. Surrey Hills packed for me; l did my own unpacking. Move including taking a bed to a separate destination and disposing of some unwanted furniture

"The team who moved me were excellent - hard working, helpful, good humoured and very pleasant. They went out of their way to do extra things to help including setting up a bed and coping with me changing my mind about where l wanted things put once or twice. They made helpful suggestions when l was unsure where to put things. So far on unpacking there has only been one breakage.
There was a gap between when l thought l was going to exchange and when it actually happened when l was caught between paying the deposit to secure my booking and knowing for certain that completion would happen. This was the most stressful part of the experience for me."

Move from 4 bed house to 5 bed house - house full, 2 children''s rooms to move. Surrey Hills packed everything up for us. You hear people say that moving is one of the most stressful things to do and I have to say that Surrey Hills made the whole process brilliant. The guys were super efficient and friendly and I would highly recommend this company to anyone moving.

The move was from Kingswood Surrey..a large five bedroomed six reception room house to a smaller property three miles away in Walton on the Hill. We opted for a comprehensive package ..packed up on day one ..all except essentials.Day 2..packing of the essentials and move .Day 3…Delivery of all boxes and furniture packed on Day 1.

"The first contact for the quotation for our move was at our house and not a video walk about. That was important to us. The representative from Surrey Hills first sat down and talked through the whole process ahead and listened to our questions before assessing the size of the move ahead. Everything was covered and the process was made clear.

As questions arose and dates became clearer any telephone call made was answered promptly and questions addressed. We had some issues with Exchange and Completion dates changing but Surrey Hills were able to be flexible and accommodate our new dates.


The packers arrived promptly on the days of the move, were professional in dress, manner and sensitive to it being a stressful time for us! Nothing was too much trouble and they took care with both our furniture and the house . I was impressed by their speed of work and how they sensibly took regular breaks after a period of heavy lifting. They gave us immediate confidence they knew exactly what they were doing.

I may have been told re the BAR advance guarantee scheme but can’t remember"

My husband and I moved from a 3 bedroom bungalow (which we had lived in for 8 years) to a 3rd floor new build smaller 3 bedroom flat. We were particularly concerned about a bespoke large freestanding bookshelf unit which needed to be deconstructed in order to be moved. The original installers were no longer available in this country. Fortunately, the men were able to to this and re-erected it successfully in our new flat.

"All the staff we dealt with on the phone and in person were polite, friendly and helpful. It was easy to arrange a convenient date for the estimate. As our exchange date kept changing we were made aware of changes in the firm's availability.

The men arrived at the agreed times on the 2 days prior to completion, on completion day, and the day following. The pre-packing of fragile items and kitchenware was done efficiently and carefully. As mentioned above, the men were able to successfully de-construct the large bespoke bookshelf unit and re-assemble it in the flat. Boxes and paper wrappings were taken away as soon as they were emptied.

There was no damage to any of our items. A minor adjustment had to be made to our bookshelf unit. This was successfully done a week after completion. All remaining empty boxes and paper were taken away then.

"The whole team at Surrey Hills Removals were brilliant. The house we were moving to was in a remote location with single track lanes, but the team were in complete control. We were impressed by the amount of research they’d done in advance to prepare and ensure the move went as smoothly as possible. An office move from Guildford to Portsmouth. Usual office desks, chair bookshelves, pre-packed boxes and a large heavy (70Kg) industrial oven.

"I contacted three companies for quotes. One never responded, one quoted significantly lower than Surrey Hills but looked far more residential and less "professional" than Surrey Hills. Both quoted on a batch of pictures I had taken at the office plus my clear description of what to take.

We did the packing into various size boxes including a large "mirror" box which took larger stuff like a whiteboard and some long items. I was most concerned about the (to me at least) very heavy oven which would cost near to £10k to replace if damaged. Hence the choice to go more professional. The pre-removal documentation and contract communication was excellent throughout.

On the day, three men turned up and worked quickly and efficiently. We had arranged for two separate delivery addresses and they took care to differentiate the two very carefully. They left promptly after getting my agreement that everything necessary was on the van. We had some stuff to go in a separate car and the removers arrived before we had moved it all from the office. It was fine but better to have it out of the way beforehand.

They did the first drop quickly and made it to the final drop just before we arrived there. The new office delivery entrance was a bit tricky but the team negotiated the corridor and lift to the second floor without complaint. Everything was delivered safely and efficiently and off they went after we signed the job off as OK."

This was a two-way move owing to divorce so half of the home contents went to one address and the rest to a different address on a separate date. The second move required 2 days to complete because of the distance involved (350 miles away).

"Once my property went on the market, I received several letters and promotional details from a number of removal firms. I selected Surrey Heath Removals on the basis of the information they supplied which was very comprehensive. The company sent an assessor to discuss the various requirements for this 2-way move (contents were going to two different addresses) and was very helpful and professional. I had assumed this was a complex situation but was reassured it was not unusual and was immediately relieved to hear that. I felt much more relaxed and confident after the visit.

The actual move took place on two separate dates with two different crews, both of which were extremely helpful and professional. My move was the second of two which took place over 2 days as it involved a journey of over 350 miles. The crew worked tirelessly and took extra care with all of my belongings. At the destination, the crew impressively manoeuvred the truck up a very narrow access lane which astonished everyone. Everything was completed with care and also sympathy towards me as I was going through a major life change. By the end of the move, I felt the crew were almost personal friends as they had been so helpful.
