The move was quite a big one, from the Hebrides to the South of Scotland. Obviously it involved ferries and timetables to suit etc. so that was an extra potential hurdle but caused no problems as everything ran to time. The furniture and items moved were mostly fairy standard items for a house of that size but particular care was taken with our piano and with some particularly fragile items such as glass shelves from tables etc.

Big move from Lancashire to Isle of Skye

Our house contents were moved from the Isle of Skye in Scotland to another removal company’s storage in Tyneside. This was because the sale of our house in Scotland did not dovetail with our purchase in England. Scottish Removal Services made all the arrangements with the succeeding company and made us very reassured that everything would be safe and well looked after.

A move from the south coast of England to the north end of the Isle of Skye. The move broke down initially because we lost our buyer; luckily we managed to find another buyer (phew)

We moved household possessions from the Scottish Borders to a new second home in South Uist. The items were collected as a part-load, stored on the Isle of Skye before taken across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides by sea in March when the weather is unpredictable.

A move from Skye to North Wales.

We moved from Yorkshire to the Isle of Skye. It was important to us to try and use a firm based on the island, and we were lucky enough to stumble across Scottish Removal Services (SRS) during our search, and read the testimonials they had recieved. Other people''s experiences of them, and their proximity to our destination made up our minds. The house we were moving to needed a full rennovation, so SRS kept half of our belongings in storage for us for about 2 years, allowing us time to create a functioning home (actually that is still on-going)!

We moved from California to Scotland, using a broker to ship a 20’ container. We packed and palletized all our belongings and loaded them onto the truck. It saved money, but it was complicated, and that was before our destination changed from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye.

Moving from a rural island to a mainland suburban area. Some large, heavy items of furniture were included. The move covered two days due to the distance between the two houses. In addition, due to the location of one of the houses, transshipping was necessary.

A move from Scotland to England

Pick up from storage at Stockton, North Yorkshire, than a drive to skye and ferry to the isle of north uist. Two vans appeared at 4pm with all our goods and al were off loaded by 8pm under my wife''s direction.

After living in Skye for 21 years the prospect of moving anywhere was daunting to say the least but the team at Scottish Removals went above and beyond from day one. From the initial contact with the irrepressible Melissa, we knew we were in good hands. After the initial survey carried out by Billy, we had our quote the same day and an initial supply of their preferred packing boxes and paper. This was 2nd June and just over 8 weeks from the planned move. We needed a lot more boxes as the date approached in what, as is for most people, a very stressful time. Fast forward to the move date and on schedule the company''s 12m truck arrived with Billy and Dan and supported by Oscar, a 15 year old local boy. The packing of the vehicle can only be described as exemplary in every way with Billy''s huge experience ensuring that almost everything was ready to go by 1700. Both he and Dan are a credit to the company and gave the most professional service all day, aided by frequent cups of tea and biscuits. Their planning, enthusiasm and incredible customer service was simply outstanding. It is certainly the case that the loading up is much harder than the offload but on time the following day Billy and Dan rolled up with our whole lives in a big box with lots of wheels and ramps and this time assisted by Archie, a 15 year old lad from Nairn. A few hours later there was an empty vehicle heading back to Skye. Eileen and I cannot thank Melissa and her team enough for such a seamless, professional and fantastic service from the start. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Scottish Removal Services to anyone moving to and from Skye or further afield. Billy and Dan were off to Wales a few days later. This is a company and every one of them will go the extra mile for their customers. The price was really competitive for such a project and we owe them a sincere debt of gratitude in what for most is stressful as well as emotional. Thank you all so very much. One last point is the superb way they treated all of our belongings throughout the move, especially the care for TVs, paintings and photographs. Oustanding.

This is the second time in ten years that we have used this firm.First instance was moving us from the isle of Harris to S.Wales, then a return journey to the island.The total mileage with our worldly goods, door to door 636 miles!
